Choosing the world to be in…

The clock ticked on, and the sweat on his brow grew into droplets. Incessantly they kept dripping, and the insane factor was that he was in an air conditioned room. The judge and the jury looked at him and the verdict would be released any moment now.

Emotions clamored at his soul and he felt his breath labor itself in, and out. Heart thumped out loud and the seconds ticked louder. He felt the weight of a thousand boulders on his shoulders. He dreaded the prison, he dreaded the courts, he dreaded the cops and he dreaded the verdict that could cause all of it.

It was his father who had instilled the scare of the cops and the law. An unwanted pressure to the burgeoning weight of being an adult.

He hadn’t done anything wrong. He just wanted to finally be free of the shackles of the 10 year old relationship and the emotional burden that it had grown into. He had struggled for too long and half his soul was already clawed at, and carved out. He hoped to preserve the balance he had of himself and taste life, like he felt he deserved to.

She just wasn’t however, willing to let him go off the hook so easily. Nope, she wanted to eat him alive, and drink his blood. He felt pathetic.

The judge opened his mouth, and the verdict was pronounced. 1 million dollars to the beautiful blonde with his child.

Why did justice have to be served to the undeserved just because they knew how to talk or cry?

The hammer struck on the desk and he felt like the desk.

How was he going to cook it up? How was he going to pay? He had asked for his freedom and in return, he got a hammer blow.

On the positive side, the judge was kind enough to have given him 3 days to cough up the money. So he was going to live his life to the fullest, at least he was getting free.

Two days went in merry and blast, as he tried and did everything he never did.

That night, he went to the top of the cliff, his favorite spot from childhood. He used to always sit there on the edge, drinking beer and watch the planes go by, the city winking at him through its numerous eyes, and the stars playing hide and seek on the top. Some days the moon would be there in its full splendor. Today was one such day. The waves crashed at the bottom of the cliff relentlessly on the rocks far below, as though to prove a point.

He was finally where he wanted to be. He felt at peace. There was one last thing he had not done…

As he opened his eyes, finally at peace, and looked at the rocks rushing in with the wind howling in his ears, he thought, hmmm, is this how it…

Would be a great encouragement, if you could like & follow.
