A Transition…

Alan got up. He was already 14 days old and he felt like someone suffering from midlife crisis. He was slower yet fast enough to get food.

Time was up. He had to go in search of food. Today was party at the Pastor’s home, so he had to get some bundles of food ready.

Kids were making noise which means food should be ready. He flew through the window following the smell of bacon and cheese.

This was puzzling. The smell seemed headed outside. That’s not how it was usually. He followed the smell into a shiny enclosure.

He heard Robert scream as he went inside. Alan looked at his family and felt good. They were all crammed in there !

And they were all trying to shoo him away. He was laughing as he kept avoiding their swipes at him.

“If you guys are gonna be here. Then, so will I be !!! I am also part of this family. I will be in this cave and will take my share of food” – thought Alan.

All of them were cramped within, not to mention the number of things that were stuffed in there. It was OK for Alan though. He would hop about. It wasn’t something new he did.

Robert again screamed and Liz was cooing him down. Roger and Ann were playing and jumping about. Revon did something and the enclosure made a noise and the air started getting cool.

Robert, Roger and Ann quieted down, thankfully !!! Human kids these days… phew !

Alan couldn’t sit anywhere because there was an incessant tremor that never stopped.

Everybody seemed OK… except him ! He just couldn’t sit in one place. The tremor got to him. The tremor was too violent for him.

The torture went on for quite some time. Alan tried to go out of the cave, but it had an invisible shield too. Beyond the invisible shield, all he could see was a blur. It was surreal! The tremor continued for a long time. The sun even shifted from one of the shields to the other shield.

Suddenly the tremors in the cave stopped. He was exhausted and puzzled. Now What?

The invisible shield disappeared, the enclosure opened and the kids jumped out. Alan was shaken and tired. He flew out all dizzy and disoriented.

This place looked different!

Out of the blue, someone who looked like him flew up to him.

She said,”Hi, I’m Riya. What’s your name?”

He replied,”Alan. Where am I ?”

She said,”Canada.”

He was confused. When he got into the enclosure, he was in Florida and now he was in Canada!

Riya smiled and said,”That’s called a car by these humans. You just did a voyage. Care to come and meet our group?” And she flew. If Revon and Liz could change places… so could he, thought Alan. He looked wistfully at his family and wished them adieu.

Alan watched after Riya and decided with a sigh, new fly colony it is.

Would be a great encouragement, if you could like & follow.
